Mechanical Engineer (GDS)
Primary Purpose of the Job:
- Undertakes fiscal, safety and engineering responsibilities for the mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities of assets managed by Transmission & Distribution department as per the following details.
- Supervises and directs the work activities of Senior Technician, Technicians & Contractors in the preventive, corrective, predictive, routine & planned mechanical maintenance activities of all the equipment & pipelines associated with the gas distribution systems coming under the asset holder ship of Transmission and Distribution Department. To ensure the integrity of all the process plant equipment and pipelines associated with the various Gas Distribution Stations, which supplies gas to various downstream industries, and to NGL processing plants at Mesaieed.
- Ensures that mechanical maintenance activities in the assigned area comply with the corporation and industry standards and safety requirements. Carries out maintenance & reliability studies & initiates actions for the replacement / upgrading of equipments as well as improvement in work methods. Supports FEED and EPIC for the ongoing and upcoming projects related to the above areas. Participates in the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of new assets with the asset holder & OEM.
- Holds the responsibility as the lone mechanical engineering position providing mechanical maintenance services in Transmission & Distribution Department in line with CMMS/SAP plant maintenance module requirements, following QP safety procedures / regulations with a view to attain optimum availability of plant and machinery for operation. SAP PM Module key performance indicators (KPI) are reviewed & ensures that the same are within the targets. Also, ensures that all maintenance activities are carried out as per the approved procedures & in compliance with requirements of ISO:9001:2000 quality management requirements / objectives.
- Exercises financial authority at the level established by the management, as per the QP manual of authorities. Prepares the annual mechanical maintenance budget for the assigned areas and ensures expenditure is within the same. Carries out maintenance and reliability studies. Actions replacement /upgrading of equipment / plant, and improve work methods.
- B. Tech or B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent, with relevant short courses in fire and safety.
- 10 – 12 years practical experience in maintenance, overhaul and repair of process plant equipments & machineries associated with oil / gas / petrochemical industry.
- Experience in the use of computerized maintenance management programs / SAP is desirable.
