Production Chemist - 04987
Your role will provide support to the Pluto project team and operations group.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaise closely with the Karratha laboratory supervisor, regarding the refurbishment of the Pluto/NWS analytical lab and also the sampling and analysis program that has been designed for Pluto.
- Confirm that the sampling and analysis program covers all requirements and once it is up and running, make sure the data is managed correctly and passed to the various interested parties.
- Interface with Sample Manager to ensure process monitoring targets are achieved.
- Complete and manage the Pluto Chemical Management plan ensuring it is kept up to date and modified where required.
- Maintain & update the Pluto lab test procedures via Virtual Bookshelf.
- Carry out delivery of outstanding ORIP & JIRA actions specific to Production Chemistry.
- Work closely with and manage if required IFE / Pluto interface for MEG issues via JIP.
- Liaise with corrosion group on inhibitor management & monitoring.
- Manage all HSE issues associated with the use of chemicals, which should include the management of the chemicals to ensure that all chemical batches are supplied in the correct manner with the MSDS and hazard warnings all easily available.
- Liaise with (Woodside Occupational Health Advisor) regarding the evaluation that is required to ensure all chemicals to be used in the Pluto development have been assessed for their HSE impact. Ensure technical qualification & QA / QC compliance.
- Work with chemical vendors to determine what physical properties should be included in any QA/QC procedure for the supply of the Pluto chemicals.
- Maintain chemical application management, monitoring and surveillance of all Pluto chemically treated systems including utilities such as Heating and Cooling water circuits.
- Monthly KPI reporting on Chemical Applications, status and actions required. Responsible for ensuring actions are flagged to Ops and followed up by TCMS / SAP routines.
- Become familiar with the running and the maintenance of the Effluent Treatment Plant to provide adequate support to the ETP Operators as required.
- Liaise with Woodside Procurement group to maximise synergies with the rest of Woodside regarding the procurement of the various chemicals for Pluto.
- Liaise with Pluto Production Technologist and Offshore teams regarding sampling requirements during well clean up, system start-up and continuous operation.
- When required work with the Pluto Phase 2, Flow Assurance team to assist in any production chemistry related issues.
- Ensure Pluto Production Chemistry learnings are shared with the functional teams and vice versa.
- Work with Pluto Process Engineers and Environmental Advisor groups to familiarise with operation of various plant units.
- Site visit to KGP to familiarise with gas plant and LNG operations and assist in troubleshooting as required.
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.
- Extensive experience in production chemistry.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and deliver results.
