Caltex has established a number of National Operational Excellence and Risk committees (OERCs). These committees were established to standardise national processes and to minimise operational risk within the Reseller, Terminals and Distribution business units through the production and rollout of std training packages to Caltex Operational Staff. The committees are responsible for providing direction, framework, resources and tools to ensure staff in safety critical positions are competent to undertake their roles.

Training Program Coordinator

Reporting to the Programmes & Standards Manager, the core of this position will be to directly contribute to the workforce compliance and capability by coordinating the development and then subsequent implementation of technical training requirements across all staff in Distribution Operations, with a primary focus on frontline employees in Terminal and Logistics functions.

More specifically your duties for the OERC will include coordinating the committee, design & communication of the annual Work Plan, which will include the initiatives required to minimise operational risk & ensuring that all 12 national terminals have a consistent approach to the implementation of the plan. In addition the role shall be responsible for the refinement of the Operational Charter and looking for ways to deliver continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the system is sustainable and there is strong alignment amongst committee members on development and rollout priority.

In order to be successful in this position & make it your own you will require the following essential attributes;

• Project management skills a proven track record of delivering a programin full & on time
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
• Strong stable experience in a variety of roles ideally with some petrochemical industry experience
• Understanding and experience in Terminal HSSE type environments
• Good understanding of OHS, Environmental and Operational Excellence management systems
• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations and interpretation
• Open & clear communications skills
• Ability to motivate
• Ability to delegate
