Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist’s role is to develop and coordinate various Safety projects and programs for the Refineries safe work systems, incident/injury management, and Occupational Health. Critical to success is development and implementation of detailed strategies to effectively manage occupational health hazards through a process of identification, assessment, control, and evaluation of both physical and work practice related hazards.

The position is the focal point for safety in the refinery as it is the key source of technical expertise in compliance with OHS law and regulation. This role also provides vital guidance, coaching and information to both senior management, employees and contractors with regards to occupational health and safety related issues.

Suitable applicants will have a tertiary qualification in OHS and previous experience working within a manufacturing industry. You will be passionate about safety and excel in your ability to communicate ideas to a varied audience.
