Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of the Electrical Discipline Engineer is to provide technical support and to deliver electrical engineering solutions to help Shell partners in the region obtain Q1 performance. This will include supporting both projects and operations in both Upstream and Downstream with primary customers being in the Americas region.

Key challenges of this position include understanding the application of power systems for a multitude of operations including refineries, onshore gas and deep water facilities; interfacing with a diverse group of people not only in facility operations, but business managers, project managers and procurement; and being able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Regularly communicate/network with customers to understand and identify their electrical engineering support needs
  • Perform scouting studies, conceptual design, basic design and engineering packages for electrical power systems up to 230kV
  • Manage the electrical engineering activities of EPC contractors during the FED and detailed design phases of a major projects
  • Develop electrical safety, protection and safeguarding philosophies
  • Conduct, or oversee engineering contractors conducting,power systems analyses including short circuit and load flow analysis, protective system coordination, dynamic stability simulations and arc flash analyses using SKM Power Tools for Windows
  • Give specialist technical advice to onshore gas, heavy oil, downstream manufacturing and distribution operations throughout the Americas
  • Develop strong networks with fellow electrical engineers in the Americas region
  • Conduct electrical technical assurance and safety reviews to verify conformance to North American and Shell requirements and recommended practices
  • Participate on industry codes and standards organizations based on business needs
  • Participate in the development and update of Shell electrical standards
  • Regularly engage with Shell Contracts & Procurement (CP) to mange electrical supplier alliances and enterprise framework agreements (EFAs)

Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledgeable of North American electrical standards
  • Academic knowledge of Electrical Power Engineering at a minimum level of Bachelor of Science
  • Minimum 5 yrs electrical engineering experience in the oil & gas or power industry

As a (Senior) QI Geophysicist you will execute integrated QI projects to improve reservoir characterization and pore-fill prediction in support of exploration, appraisal and field development projects. You will be required to define the scope of a quantitative interpretation project, evaluate the different methods and workflows, examine suitability of existing data and rock properties for QI, propose the most effective approach and execute the QI project yourself. In doing so you will need to liaise closely with all stakeholders in the project to ensure that the data used is fit for purpose, or otherwise propose necessary improvements. You will need to generate appropriate data volumes, diagnostics and interpretation of those. Typical QI studies may comprise the full spectrum from modeling hydrocarbon effects, well to seismic matching and T-Z conversion to full elastic and probabilistic inversions using 3D and 4D data. You will be working in a high technology environment with access to “state of the art” IT infrastructure and software tools, and a wide range of specialists worldwide to help you solve non-routine problems. Depending on experience you will be expected to coach more junior staff.

Requirements:
We are looking for Geoscientists or Petroleum Engineers with strong skills in Quantitative Interpretation of seismic data, who are well equipped to integrate geological, geophysical and petrophysical data and models to arrive at a proper quantification and uncertainty estimation of key prospect and/or reservoir parameters. This position as a (Senior) Quantitative Interpretation Geophysicist requires solid experience, part of which has been obtained in an operating environment. It should include Skill/Mastery level in several of the core discipline areas of Quantitative Interpretation techniques, tools and workflows outlined below. In addition you should have an excellent understanding of static and dynamic reservoir modeling with a proven track record and experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Key competencies

1. Initiate Quantitative Interpretation – Define a quantitative interpretation project in support of geological and business requirements, evaluate the different methods, examine suitability of existing data for QI and propose the most suitable method and data for the QI project.

2. Perform Velocity Modeling and Time-to Depth Conversion – Perform advanced velocity modeling and/or T/D conversion techniques, generate diagnostic displays to relate velocities to the geology to generate time and velocity maps or volumes, perform time-to-depth conversion using various techniques and quantify uncertainties.

3. Provide input into Field Development/well planning – Assure the appropriate input into the Field Development Plan or well by taking the following steps: Seismic-to-well calibration and modeling. Next build hydrocarbon, fluid and rock property inventory. Quantify amplitude effects on seismic data and perform seismic inversion. Determine pressure prediction from seismic velocities and provide input into field development plan/well planning.

4. Perform 4D Modeling – Assess feasibility, compare observed seismic differences with prediction. Conduct forward modeling, quantify model uncertainties and constrain dynamic models.

5. Evaluate and Visualise Multi Attributes Data Volumes – Assess quality of data and investigate requirements. Derive required predictive attribute volumes, create classification volumes for structure, facies and AvO. Visualise and QC results; interpret derived attribute volumes using 3D body- and 3D fault extraction and event-constrained methodologies. Calibrate relevant attribute volumes against seismic and geological well data, extrapolate results away from well control. Quantify uncertainties for input into prospect evaluation risk assessments and/or 3D static models.

Responsibilities:

Shell's Project & Technology Group is currently in the front end development of a number of multi-billion dollar Gas Monetization opportunities in North America. The projects, located in the USA and Canada,fit within Shell’s strategy to responsibly meet global energy demand by tapping abundant natural gas reserves.
We are looking for highly motivated construction managers with relevant large project experience to join our dynamic team of professionals in developing and executing the growing portfolio of Downstream and Midstream Gas Projects in the Americas. The primary purpose of the position is to provide construction input during Front-End Development of these large projects, then be accountable for construction performance during execution. The value added from robust construction and constructability input during front end can be as much as 10% of direct field labor. This is a substantial area for improvement in Shell Front End Development. The incumbent will support the respective Project Manager in the development and assurance of the Construction deliverable and activities during Front-end Development.
Additionally the Construction Manager will be accountable for:

  • Providing early construction input for Head Office major projects in areas such as;
  • Construction Contractor screening criteria
  • site selection, along with associated impacts and regrets
  • labor impacts
  • module execution strategy
  • offsite fabrication
  • material handling and transport plans (barge, rail, road, etc)

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or relevant work experience in a technical discipline
  • minimum of 15 (fifteen) years broad construction experience preferably within the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Demonstrated experience in an accountable role for construction n large projects ($500 million or more) in either a Project Manager or Construction Manager role

Responsibilities:

There are many factors and changes in the supply chain that are outside of operational control but which impact the supply schedules.
