Role synopsis:

• A number of roles exist within the Global Fluids Discipline both within the Central team and also in the Regions supporting operations.
• Central roles cover technical auditing (external and internal), production of training and development materials for internal Fluids specialists and the wider Drilling and Completions community and the building of Fluids standards – practices for global implementation.
• The Regional Fluids Specialist will cover the technical areas of drilling/completion fluids and drilling waste. The post holders will support operations in the areas of project planning, execution, contractor management and technology implementation.
• The candidate will become a member of the company’s global fluids discipline and for the right candidate, there is potential for growth in other operating Regions of the company.

Essential Education:

• Candidates will be educated to degree standard.
• Essential experience and job requirements All positions are technical roles. Candidates will have broad experience in Fluids either with an operator or service company. Both operational and planning support in the office exposure is essential.
• For the Regional positions. It is expected that candidates will have a good understanding of the cross-over to drilling and completion skills such as operating in narrow pore pressure fracture gradient windows, hole cleaning practices and wellbore strengthening.

Other essential skills and knowledge:

• Candidates will have good interpersonal, report writing and influencing skills. They will be expected to be motivated self starters. Ability to Team Play is critical to support and interface with Fluids engineers in the Regions and in Central positions. An understanding of contractor & contract performance management is a must.

Desirable criteria & qualifications:

• Exposure to a range of operating regions, technologies and practices is desirable.
• Candidates will be expected to demonstrate deep technical skills in line with the company’s operating regions that include wellbore stability, shale chemistry, formation damage, sand-faced completions, ERD practices, multi-laterals, completion fluids, environmental awareness/regulatory compliance and remote operations.
• Deepwater and/or HTHP experience are a distinct advantage.
• Leadership is a desirable quality.
• Mobility is also desirable.
