This role will lead the design of the full exhaust system assembly, sub assembly and child parts to enable manufacture. You’ll review designs from other programmes and direct design for manufacturing principles. You’ll also have responsibility for developing detailed design guide rules with the Technical Specialist, and for providing technical design detail support to CAD engineers, which will facilitate the move towards ‘make to print’

Candidate Profile

To join us you’ll need the following:

• Proven delivery of exhaust systems for a Tier 1 supplier and leadership in exhaust detail design for manufacturing is essential
• Expertise in typical exhaust materials & properties up to 900°C
• A detailed knowledge of sheet metal forming, joining processes and limitations, tube/ pipe manipulation, forming and joining processes and limitations
• Familiarity with methods of constructing catalytic converters / silencer boxes
• Proven use of key quality tools (i.e. DFMEA)
• A degree in a relevant discipline
• Experience of designing using CATIA V5 is an added benefit
