The Highway Broker Sales Rep will solicit, coordinate and manage shipments via Truck carriers (TL, LTL,) as requested by our customers. This includes communicating effectively with customers and carriers, and the input of shipment data into our Transportation Management System (TMS). Optimize shipments and continually focus on the improvement of processes in order to ensure the customer's needs are met through profitable, high quality, cost-effective logistics and truck transportation services.

Accountabilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Qualifying Customers and Carriers,
• Soliciting freight from current and new customers,
• Carrier Selection and Management (LoadTech)
• Calling carriers to secure & coordinate carrier capacity to move cargo according to customer requirements,
• Order Acceptance and Execution; meeting customer expectations regarding pickup/delivery of product.
• Customer satisfaction; insuring safe & timely movement of freight per requirements
• Booking Loads and Equipment in a profitable manner –maximize revenues and contribution,
• Optimize shipments using TMS for maximum cost effectiveness.
• Financial Closure – Receivables/payables,
• Rate quotation – Sales opportunities,
• Interacting professionally with team mates.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3 years as a truckload broker, freight consolidator, freight forwarder, load planner, or dispatcher.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to Multi task
• Competitive attitude
• Goal oriented and self motivated

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work flexible hours.
• TMS experience.
• Good PC skills, including MS Excel and Word.
• SAP or other ERP experience a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures manuals and transportation documents (BOL, POD, etc.)
