SECURITY GUARD

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat is the nerve centre of ASEAN, a regional inter-governmental organisation founded in 1967, to promote peace and stability, sustained economic growth, shared prosperity and social progress. It comprises the ten countries of Southeast Asia.

Currently the ASEAN Secretariat is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Security Guard who will work under the Administration, Protocol & Conference Services Division, Corporate Affairs Directorate, Community & Corporate Affairs Department.

Requirements:

• Education: at least Senior High School
• Basic Knowledge of spoken English and good communication in Bahasa,
• Experience: at least two years of experience performing security function in government, international organisation, or private sectors with proven record of trustworthiness, sound, and quick judgement.
• Familiar with security rules including fire extinguisher and radio procedure.
• Competency in security operational system, with good team work, high initiative, integrity, and demonstrate working behaviour and attitude according to the ASEC regulation (discipline). Also ability to make timely decision and take action when appropriate.
• Ability to express opinions/verbal communication clearly and logically, and demonstrates telephone skill in good and in professional manner.
• Proven good interpersonal effectiveness, ability to treat people with respect.
• Demonstrates stable performance under pressure and/or opposition, maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with different tasks, responsibilities and people.

General qualifications:

• A familiarity with diplomatic practices and protocol. Other required qualities are: ability to multi-task, work long and irregular hours, and perform outside the usual job scope; ability to function effectively independently and as part of a team.
