Software Build/Release Engineer

Position Summary

The Software Build/Release Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the deployment process used within the Engineering Group at GT Nexus. The position will work closely with project management, software development, QA and operations teams to refine processes and resolve issues in building, releasing, testing, deploying, updating, and monitoring GT Nexus products across multiple environments. The Software Build/Release Engineer will serve as central coordination point for all changes to the applications.

Job Requirements

• Creating build plans
• Developing build scripts
• Preparing build environments for web-based enterprise applications
• Creating application-software builds for development, test, and production environments
• Coordinating with developers and testers for bug fixes
• Contributing to the analysis and planning for bug fixes, build and test cycles, and hot fixes.

Skills required:

• 3+ years related work experience.
• MUST have experience in managing CVS environment.
• MUST have experience writing Ant/Make scripts.
• MUST have experience automating build and deployment scripts.
• Experience with Application Servers (preferably Web Logic) is a plus.
• Candidate should be able to read and debug Java code and be familiar with Java syntax. Any development experience is a plus.
• Should have experience with Configuration Management industry standards and best practices.
• Experience with Defect tracker/test management tools is a plus.
