Job Summary

Atkins’ Aerospace division is a progressive and expanding part of the Atkins group of businesses, an international company with over 17500 employees worldwide. We provide high end engineering and project management services to the prime aerospace companies. We are a strategic supplier to both Airbus and Rolls Royce and as such we are involved in some of the most challenging and exciting aerospace projects in the world, including the A350XWB and A400M aircraft programmes.

We are now seeking the right individuals to join our growing Aerospace structures team in Hamburg and work alongside colleagues in the UK, the Netherlands, USA and India.

The position of F&DT Engineer is ideally suited to high calibre engineer with significant and appropriate experience. You will be expected to take full ownership of technical tasks and to lead others in their execution.

Job Details

• Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of metallic, composite or hybrid primary and secondary aircraft structural components
• Certification analysis, design support or design optimisation
• Creation of analysis reports and project documentation
• Integrated working within multi-disciplinary and often international teams

You should have the following qualifications:

• Dipl.-Ing., Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent degree
• Strong working knowledge (oral and written) of the English language
• Minimum of 3 years practical experience in the F&DT analysis of lightweight and / or aircraft structures
• Excellent team working and communication skills
• Willingness to work flexibly and to travel

It would also be advantageous if you can demonstrate any of the following:

• Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis experience gained within the aerospace industry
• Experience of analysis of composite structures
• Working knowledge of specific industry tools e.g. DATIG, ISAMI
• Good German language skills and additional languages
