And this role certainly represents the ultimate challenge for an engineer. You’ll be a key member of the ETO team responsible for engineering exclusive premium products for our top-line ranges, and for bringing a creative and innovative approach to unique and bespoke vehicles.
The department works in a nimble and responsive way, which means products can be brought to market quickly. Because it’s structured as an autonomous business, you’ll enjoy unprecedented freedom. Indeed, we’ll expect you to actively develop the team with new ideas.
Here, you’ll be responsible for taking a range of desirable products from design concept right through to volume production. These products will be hugely diverse, from night vision, fog lights and LED lights to stolen vehicle tracking or iPad integration – and beyond. They may be required for fitment on the production line, or at dealerships. The sheer variety of projects means your skills will be stretched like never before.
Working closely with Design teams to define products and create engineering specifications, your goal will be to combine high quality with affordability – assuring ‘must-have’ status. Owning the full process for each product, you’ll select suppliers, define standards, produce releases and develop rigorous test regimes.
Candidate Profile
Qualified to degree level in an electrical / electronics subject, you will ideally have a broad knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, preferably combined with NOS/ CAN / LIN / MOST architecture.You’ll certainly have demonstrable automotive electrical and practical engineering workshop experience, together with advanced project management skills. A clear acumen for business will really set you apart.
