Currently we are seeking numerous Derrickman to join the Atwood Falcon, a Semi-Submersible Rig that will be operating in North-West Australian waters after working many years off Malaysia.

Position Summary

The Derrickman operates, monitors and maintains all drilling fluid systems and equipment associated with drilling oil and gas wells from an offshore drilling unit; directs and coordinates work activities associated with drilling fluid system and equipment operations; and works aloft in the derrick running and retrieving drill string sections from the well bore.

Duties include but are not limited to: working in the derrick to safely and efficiently assist the Driller in centering, raising and lowering all casing, drill pipe and tubulars through the drill floor rotary table; ensuring the smooth operation and support function of the mud module including preventative maintenance and general repairs of mud equipment as requested by the Driller and Mud Engineer, ensuring chemicals and mud mixture meets the needs of drilling operations, supervising loading of liquid mud products from water vessels, directing and supervising the Floorman or Roustabout assigned to the sack room, performing general maintenance and upkeep of the equipment in the chemical, mud and pump rooms; assisting the Driller and Floormen on the drill floor when requested.

Essential Qualification/Skill Requirements:

• Minimum 2yrs Offshore Experience as a Derrickman
• Valid OPITO Approved TBOSIET/BOSIET
• Minimum 5yrs industry experience
• RB, SB, LF, DG
• Have knowledge of the use and operation of well control procedures to:

Pit drill
Kick control
Choke manifold
Diverter system
Gas detectors including H2S

• Well Control Course in Drilling S/S Stack, Fundamental Level

Desirable Qualifications/Skill Requirements:

• Competency in Dogging, Basic Rigging Work and OH&S policy
