Position Summary

GT Nexus is looking for a strategic writer to join the corporate marketing team. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex business and technology concepts into intelligent, succinct business documents that will appeal to leadership at Global 2000 companies. The marketing writer will be an in-house "journalist" who can interview various domain experts and turn concepts into stories. These stories will manifest themselves into things like White Papers, Case Studies, PR Bylines, Press Releases, Blogs, Collateral, Proposals, Presentations and Website Pages. The idea candidate should have business to business technology writing experience. While we’re not looking for a jargon expert, we do need someone who can talk the language of our business. GT Nexus is addressing international trade, a huge and very broken industry, with a breakthrough cloud technology platform. We market and sell into retail, apparel, manufacturing, consumer goods, life sciences, automotive and chemical industries. While each industry faces common challenges, there are also a range of specific issues we must consider in our outbound communications. The strategic writer will help us turn ideas and concepts into marketing content.

Responsibilities Include:

• Act as primary outbound content developer for all marketing materials and social outlets, globally.
• White papers, case studies, perspective papers, product materials
• Media activities like byline articles and possible press release support
• Social media including several blogs, twitter, facebook, LinkedIn
• Become fluent in the GT Nexus story, look for ways to inject the company into the mainstream business and technology movement through smart, thought-provoking copy
• Work alongside Designers to create polished assets
• Research ideas, propose solutions and approaches and develop the written product
• Support the ongoing written communication needs of various marketing campaigns and events
• Interact with customers, capture produce their story for internal and external constituents

Job Requirements

• 5+ years as a writer or in a communications position with a heavy writing component
• 3+ years writing about technology
• Strong portfolio showcasing published examples work for technology companies
• Experience writing for senior business executives at large global companies
• Ability to understand complex business themes, and then translate into compelling and succinct copy
• Experience in a business to business environment, either in corporate marketing role, or as a journalist/analyst
• Self starter, capable of doing the legwork necessary to fully understand a complex issues without extensive support from other stakeholders
• Familiarity writing for or contributing to mainstream social media outlets
• Experience writing with SEO in mind
• BA/BS degree, preferably in Marketing, English, Communications, or Journalism
• Uncompromising when it comes to quality
