Job Description
- Key member of the global Infrastructure team. Responsible for the development and ongoing management / administration of a global asset management program.
- Develop methods to ensure that Bio-Rad continuously complies with all software licensing requirements. Install appropriate global governance to eliminate all exposures that could result from any use of unlicensed applications, and database software.
- Manage a small group of 3-5 IT professionals who will administer all aspects of a global program to identify and then track all assets associated with our global Client Platforms environment. This to include the centralization of all asset ownership, software entitlement and ongoing purchasing activities as those pertain to the global Client Platforms effort.
- Oversee all aspects of the global Client Platforms effort including all programs and projects which ultimately serve to move the Bio-Rad organization along the maturity curve associated with improving the way we manage the client platform area and strive to drive down the total cost of PC ownership. Manage all of this while ensuring that the service delivered to our internal customer is constantly improving. Develop and obtain approval for all Key Performance Indicators that will be utilized to measure the effectiveness of these efforts with our Internal Customers.
- Coordinates Global IT related resources to meet the continued growth of the business with the efficient use of Information Technology in order to control IT expense and insure that hardware and software are properly licensed.
- This position will require working with the Life Science, Clinical Diagnostics, ISO, Asia Pac and European Manufacturing groups to support and develop the innovative use of global IT resources and infrastructure to assist the business with their current and future R&D, Sales, Service, Finance, and Manufacturing needs.
- Keep current on industry best practices including ITIL, FDA and international governance.
- Partner with the business to assist in sharing methods and technologies surrounding the efficient use of global IT assets and resources.
Required Experience
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 10 or more years of IT experience. At least 5 years of this experience must be in the field of IT Infrastructure.
- Proven experience with the support of end user computing devices and applications.
- 5 or more years of IT Management experience in a large global organization.
- Proven experience on project teams with a proven ability to work under time constraints while meeting critical milestones.
- Proven experience with the development of global processes and the management of projects which selected and deployed global tools to fulfill defined requirements.
Skills:
- Proven ability to manage small teams to accomplish project goals.
- Ability to gain team momentum, develop team morale and push towards a goal when parts of the global organization may not wish to change.
- Extensive knowledge and training in the field of PC application licensing. IE, Microsoft Licensing Boot Camp.
- While not extensive, some International travel will be required.
