Exploration Manager
Reporting to the President Director, the Exploration Manager develops and oversees anexploration programme within PT. Dairi Prima Mineral’s the Contract of Work enabling an
efficient and timely evaluation and ranking of the exploration potential of the Dairi project.
The key roles and accountabilities include:
- Formulate on an annual basis exploration Work Programmes for the Project and to oversee the efficient implementation of such programmes.
- Recruit, train and manage the project’s geologists and supporting field teams.
- Provide periodic exploration budgets and expenditure reports in a timely manner.
- Appoint and supervise drilling and other contractors to implement work programmes.
- Implement and control QA/QC procedures and reporting.
- Maintain close liaison and communication with the geology team of the mining department.
- Ensure that exploration activities are conducted in accordance with international performance standards of corporate social responsibility.
- Produce high quality quarterly and annual statutory reports and monthly in-house reports in timely manner.
The successful candidate will possess the following key criteria:
- Bachelor level qualifications in Geology/Earth Sciences from a recognized university or college and preferably relevant post graduate qualifications.
- Be a “Competent Person” to report exploration results, as defined by the Australian JORC code or equivalent international standard (Canadian NI 43-101, South African SAMREC or European PERC).
- A minimum of 12 years mineral exploration experience with a proven track record of management of complex programmes with successful outcomes.
- Extensive experience in mineral exploration and mining geology, in paRTICULAR zinc-lead mineralization will be viewed favourably.
- Sound understanding of QA/QC and HSE standards and procedures.
- Expertise in modern exploration technologies and methodologies in wet tropical environments.
- Sound working knowledge of mining/exploration software and database systems.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of professional registration.
- Ability to work in remote areas in developing countries.
