Job Description

As a Body CAE Project Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in leading the development and design of light, safe, quiet and durable vehicles of premium quality - vehicles that are admired and desired around the world. You’ll be a key member of a department that’s dedicated to using the very best processes and CAE techniques, from design, through development, into test.

Leading a small team, with responsibility for planning and controlling delivery of their work, you’ll run baseline and complex CAE analysis. Summarising your results and feeding back your conclusions to the Project Leader, you’ll also be expected to work closely with design teams to develop solutions within defined deadlines. With a real awareness of potential design constraints - from manufacturing to packaging, and beyond - you’ll ensure due consideration is given.

Candidate Profile

Qualified with a relevant engineering degree, you are a skilled leader, with proven experience of automotive body system and component development. You have a track record of using CAE tools to meet defined performance targets and support design confirmation, conduct test support and carry out test-to-test CAE correlation.

We currently have opportunities in four core areas:

• Body Durability CAE - you’ll support the development of automotive body component stiffness, strength and fatigue performance for new products, utilising your experience of Hyperworks, Nastran, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, fatigue software, and robustness and optimisation tools.
• Body NVH & Dynamics CAE - you’ll support the development of automotive body noise, vibration and dynamics performance for new products, utilising your experience of Hyperworks, Nastran, and robustness and optimisation tools.

Vehicle Safety CAE - you’ll support the development of automotive body and vehicle structural, occupant and pedestrian safety performance for new products, utilising your experience of Hyperworks, Oasys (Primer, D3Plot, T/HIS), LS-Dyna, and robustness and optimisation tools.

Model Build - building body component and vehicle system CAE models using your experience of Hyperworks, Primer and Ansa pre-processors, you’ll also utilise your expertise across Nastran, Abaqus, and LS-Dyna to de-bug models before they are delivered to attribute teams.
