Position Summary

GT Nexus, Inc. is actively seeking a SQL Server database administrator to maintain our development, QA and production database environments. The candidate will be a member of a team that is responsible for the maintenance, security and performance of the database tier.

• Day-to-day administration of SQL Server 2005 & 2008 (backup/restore, troubleshooting, monitoring, user management, installing and configuring SQL Server)
• Create and maintain scripts for monitoring, administration, automation
• Deploy code to production environments
• Document database-related policies and procedures
• Research, test and deploy new applications, software upgrades, OS service packs, hot fixes
• Participate in on-call rotation, including first tier support for non-DBA issues

Job Requirements

• 2-3+ years DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and/or 2008
• Experience with SQL, preferably T-SQL
• Familiarity with Windows 2003 and/or 2008 operating systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired qualifications include:

• Experience with Microsoft cluster
• Experience with scripting, preferably with VB Script
• Experience with SAN technology
• Experience with query tuning
