Position Summary
  • The Distribution Account Manager for Brightpoint will be responsible for driving our regional distribution sales performance.
  •  This role requires a passion for all things BlackBerry built around a cornerstone of channel and 'supply side' optimization.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining engagement with RIM's Distribution channel partners, and delivering RIM's device, software and accessories revenue and contribution margin targets through Brightpoint Distribution channels in Indonesia.
  • The individual will be responsible for demand forecasting and managing internal stakeholders so supply availability and sell-in and sell-through targets are met.
  • The person will report directly to the Director Distribution Sales, who with other team resources will provide support in retail channel development, accessories sales and marketing strategy, carrier engagement and executive relationship building across the partner eco systems.
The Distribution Sales Manager - Brightpoint is expected to excel in the following:
  • Develop collaborative agreed run -rate/demand plan by analyzing partner sales data, demand forecasts, and inventory data weekly to derive a clear demand statement to ensure appropriate stocking levels.
  • Monitor the order backlog to ensure it reflects Partners true requirements and mitigate the risk of inventory exposure
  • In product constraint situations, manage partner expectations in regards to supply, and work with all stake holders to define and execute a plan to balance supply across all accounts/products.
  • Ensure we do not exceed inventory targets, justify cases where this might be required
  • Work Collaboratively with Sales to gain intelligence on deals, promotions and new store openings and all events that will impact the normal RR
  • Work Collaboratively with Demand Forecast Analysts to improve forecast accuracy
  • Investigate if supply is not meeting customer expectations and proactively investigate solutions to ensure agreed run rate is met
  • Report weekly results to key stakeholders, to measure performance against KPI
  • Develop Senior Management relationships with our distribution partners
  • Drive Quarterly business reviews
  • Managing RCP process tightly, matching sell in to market needs
  • Driving transparency of the distribution partner business for RIM (including logistics and financial reporting to us)
  • In the medium and long term understanding where we need distribution partners in the value chain, and making sure that they delivers that capability (for example, setting up local CGK warehouse, billing in IDR etc)
  • In the long term expanding partner's capabilities to match opportunity and our requirements outside of inventory and stock logistics (for example, managing a refurb program).
Qualifications

Essential Skills And Qualifications
  • Data analysis and numeracy skills with proven ability to evaluate, analyse and present data
  • Practical & proactive approach to problem solving and continuous process improvement
  • Ability to build effective relationships in a cross-functional team environment, excellent communication skills are necessary
  • Ability to work under pressure
Criteria used to Measure Success:
  • Year over Year growth in Sales in the assigned territory
  • Attainment of financial goals
  • Attainment of key attach rates to be determined by Sales Management
  • Level of interaction with the distribution partners, retailers & independent stores
  • Ability to develop and propose ways to address business challenges and opportunities.
Requirements:

It is expected that the successful candidate will have at least three, and preferably four of the following:
  • Relevant industry experience
  • 5 years Indonesia channel experience
  • Tertiary qualifications, BA or equivalent preferred
  • 3 years experience in telecoms
  • Proven track-record of excellence - sales, operations, execution and thought leadership
  • Complex and strategic Partner Relationship management
  • Channel sales or channel management experience
