Role synopsis
This role forms an integral part of the Reseller Engineering Team, involved in developing, delivering and monitoring leading edge Project expertise within the Reseller Engineering Team. The role will assist in the development of consistent Project Management tools and Engineering procedures; and will develop resources for projects across various businesses.
The role is to instil project management principles and disciplines for the successful delivery of multiple Programs at any one time within the given region (E.g. UTMP upgrades, Forecourt Pollution Control Upgrades, Shop Upgrades, HSSE initiatives etc).
A key focus of the role will be to ensure that the Programs key risks, including HSSE risks, are managed, identified, mitigated and are kept ‘top of mind’ with all Stakeholders and all Engineering disciplines are adhered to.

Key accountabilities
This role will be responsible for;
- Providing Leadership, direction and development to key staff within your control.
- Liaising with resources (BP Staff and Contractors) to ensure the successful completion of multiple projects simultaneously.
- This role will have a key involvement in the Truckstop/Travel Centre program and providing integral support to the Head Office Engineering teams to ensure that these programmes are adequately resourced.
- Monitoring Project Engineers KPI’s according to the Central PM requirements and communicating with Key Stakeholders.
- Ensure the fundamentals of Time, Cost, Quality and Risk are professionally managed and to the expectations of the BP internal stakeholders.
- Act as a ‘Change Manager’ through extensive coaching of BP Staff and Contractors during the embedding of consistent, centrally developed, Engineering Ways of Working.
- Ensure communication and on-time reporting to line management for the Governance Board.
- Effectively give and receive feedback from internal and external customers.
- Managing day to day expectations for ensuring continuity of work requirements.
- Managing the Support Officer in their daily activities.
- Degree or Tertiary qualified
- preferably in Engineering or Project Management.
- 10 years extensive experience as a Project Manager with a proven track record with design and construction.
- Person should have field based experience and have successfully managed geographically dispersed teams.
- Performance driven, with a passion for driving consistent PM excellence.
- Strong team leadership skills, with proven ability to motivate a team to deliver outstanding performance.
- Broad understanding of various BP business streams within Australia.
