Position Description
Based in our Singapore office, the Field Service/Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support/training to customers, OEM participants and technology partners regarding product handler interface issues. He/She will provide support in presale, current sale and post sale situation. This person must understand and respond appropriately in all situations including making recommendations to customers relative to effective use of Johnstech products. This position will require regular travel in Southeast Asia (~40-50%). Additional travel expected in other locations internationally, including US. This is a dynamic, multi-variant professional position with high industry performance expectations.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide assistance and information in resolving technical issues that may occur with Johnstech products.
- Interface troubleshooting and problem resolution on-site or off-site in the areas of: verification of proper contactor component configuration, load board design, handler nest design, handler device presentation and verify accuracy of docking in X, Y and Z directional planes. B
- e a technical resource for training, interfacing and general test floor support.
- Analyze returned product and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
- Work with customers, partner companies to secure design information.
- Assist other Field Service/Applications Engineer.
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years experience in final test experience for the semiconductor industry maintaining/troubleshooting ATE test equipment (pick and place as well as gravity fed handler experience). This position requires daily contact with manufacturers of integrated circuits, device handlers, testers and load boards.
- Strong hands-on mechanical background with excellent analytical troubleshooting skills; basic electrical knowledge required.
- Proficient with interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Ability to conceptualize, document, communicate, defend, modify and drive an agenda/plan.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when establishing priorities and schedules.
- Proven success working in an environment requiring high degree of self- initiative, accountability and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in working with clients (internal and external), striving for win-win situations.
- Ability to work and communicate in a cross functional matrix style management system, “multiple” cross discipline managers, departmental, sales, marketing, project, engineering.
- Functional English skills.
- Mandarin required (verbal/written).
- Able to travel internationally including SE Asia and US.
