Description
The Field Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for the overall execution of the WCBU Materials Management practices and performance of all WCBU Field Materials Management facilities (warehouses, controlled offsite and support for the asset recovery locations) and Staff. This position is responsible for ensuring WCBU’s Materials Management Strategy is executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with all company policies and core values.
Responsibilities
Materials Management
- Manage Field Materials Management Model and related program execution
- Manage organization change aspect of engaging and enrolling field materials staff and business partners into model execution and program deliverables
- Manage business partner (operations, maintenance, construction and supply chain) leaders issues and concerns related to materials management
- Accountable to recognize and document value of the Materials Management Model
- Manage the materials management compliance assurance program and proactive prevention and timely close out of assurance audit actions
- Responsible for the execution and sustainment of WCBU materials management processes and compliance
- Work with local Ops, Maintenance and SCM leadership to establish optimum strategies to supply specific parts and materials to all area operations
- Champion and proactively influence global materials management initiatives
- Manage the team to deliver the Materials Management partner strategy
- Optimize staffing and support levels across the operations
- Work with CPC Production Operations and Supply Chain Leadership Teams to manage training and career development for Field Materials Management staff
- Develop and implement a full suite of suitable leading and trailing metrics to manage and continuously improve the WCBU Materials Management Model
- Refine and optimize inventory management and related processes to maximize Materials Management Model value
- Evaluate and propose new value added opportunities
- Contract Management for any agreed supplier managed materials
QualificationsNOTE: This position can be located in Red Deer or Calgary
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Completion of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3 years Materials Management experience directly within the oil and gas or support service industry
- Minimum 10 years experience in Materials Management
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Prior demonstrated experience in direct supervision of employees
- Working knowledge of ERP systems within Maintenance or Supply Chain discipline
- Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restriction
- A Bachelors degree in a related field or study is considered an asset
- Proven ability to champion change and work collaboratively with other supervisors to generate and implement optimal solutions
- Excellent leadership, team building and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to manage conflict and change
- Experience with and/or exposure to Western Canadian Conventional Oil and Gas Operations
- Working knowledge with SAP Materials Management
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
