Responsibilities

• Long Description : Engineer, UG Field Inspector
• Basic Function : Monitor, evaluate, and report on the quality of work in the field of all activities at assigned mine area (e.g., blasting practices, ground support requirements and installation, including shotcrete, grouted bar, and construction concrete and steel sets installation). Maintain good communication and coordination with relevant departments (e.g., Development, Pre-Production, Caving, Construction, and Contractor).

Job Responsibility :
With your team, perform daily checks in the field and report your findings on the quality of work. You will inspect and report on the following aspects:

1. Conduct quality assurance activities of headings for blasting over break, ventilation bag, pipe installations, ground support, housekeeping, shotcrete installation, etc., to ensure activities from Development crew are meet to standards.
2. Conduct quality assurance from Pre-Production crew to ensure quality of activity of threaded-rebar ground support, wire mesh, fiber shotcrete, cable bolting, high pressure resin injection, and cement grouting.
3. Conduct quality assurance from Construction crew to ensure quality of activity of the batch plant concrete/shotcrete, construction of drawpoint steel sets, floow concrete, and the aggregate crushing plant.
4. Conduct quality assurance from Caving crew to ensure quality of activity of undercut ring drilling, and swell mucking.
5. Conduct quality assurance from Mass Excavation Crew to ensure quality of activity of mass excavation including over break and tights, compliance to sequencing of development, ground support, and construction preparation.
6. Conduct quality assurance from Laboratory, includes lab. testing for shotcrete (i.e., round-panel-determinant, coring, impact hammer, needle, beam, and nail testing), concrete (core, UCS, and box sample), split set and thread
7. bar (pull testing, dimensional testing, acid testing, ect.), wire mesh, and others to ensure quality meets the standards.

The key challenges in this position include:

• Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and good coordination between all of the various departments related to the underground works, e.g., Operations, Engineering, Construction Contractor, etc., which require good interpersonal skill, organization skill and use persuasive skill to ensure clear coordination.
• Ability to identify and report quality issues.

Requirements
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

• Minimum Education and Experience
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, in either Mining or Civil Engineering or similar, with at least 2 to 3 years of experience at mine underground environment (e.g., development drill & blast, grouted rebar, and shotcrete application), and at least 1 year supervisory experience with project management or mining operations.
