Role synopsis
The Electrical Technical Authority (TA) is part of the Engineering Authority Team, and will work closely with the Discipline Engineering teams to provide technical assurance for operations and maintenance activities and new project equipment selection in their area.
In addition to the Discipline Engineering team, this position requires significant interaction with Operations and Maintenance personnel for the producing assets and the Projects organization.
The TA position will also be the primary interface with the Segment TA's, BP networks, and industry organizations.

At minimum Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from reputable university

- Advise Engineering Authority (EA) and staff on issues relating to technical integrity
- Advise maintenance and inspection frequencies and techniques within Electrical area
- Involved and consulted for Management of Change efforts that relate to electrical engineering
- Advise the use of appropriate standards, practices and design guidelines
- Advise staff and the EA with respect to exceptions to the Region Standard Technical Practise (STP)
- Evaluate requests from technical expertise for exceptions to the STPs / industry standards as requested
- Actively participate in BP technical networks / communities of interest, maintaining a strong awareness of technical learning, advances within their area of specialty, etc.
- Serve as technical focal point for engineers within are of engineering in the region
- Link with the I&CE Segment Technical Authorities and Subject Matter Experts to understand risk-related issues, and network on potential exceptions to STPs
At minimum Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from reputable university
Essential experience and job requirements
- At minimum 15 years experience in Oil & Gas industry from either PSCs or engineering company
- Skillful in Specifications, Code, and standards – that are applicable in oil and gas industry
- Strong expertise in electrical engineering, experienced working as Subject Matter Experts in Electrical discipline
- High proficiency in related Electrical Engineering Software and Applications
- Good facilitating and leadership skills
- Have Professional Engineering membership / chartered
- Experienced working in LNG and Refinery work environment
