Position Summary
RIM's Social Networking Application Development Team is looking for a Software Development Team Lead. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for owning and driving the release of exciting and high-quality mobile consumer social networking applications with tens millions of users worldwide.
The successful candidate must have a strong software development background, prior people leadership experience, understanding of the mobile applications space, and insight into system architecture, design, and development estimation. Ideally they will also have experience developing and releasing applications in the BlackBerry mobile space.
Responsibilities
- Leading, motivating and mentoring a team of 4+ developers
- Releasing quality software frequently and on a timely basis
- Understanding high level features and building technical requirements
- Developing and delivering software using the Agile process
- Being involved in design, development and architecture where necessary
- Working together with other RIM teams to build solutions in order to meet deliverables
Essential Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of software development experience in Java and C++
- 4+ years of formal people leadership experience
- Experience releasing software on mobile platforms
- Your resume should demonstrate your ability to deliver software, take initiative and propose creative solutions to complex problems.
- Solid team player with a positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- BlackBerry development experience
- J2ME
- Experience with multi-threading and web services
- 2D graphics and UI development experience
- Qt
- Interest in mobile devices and the Social Networking space
