Senior Associate Counsel

Job summary

• To assist in contract negotiations and ensure all contracts are properly vetted so they do not contain provisions which jeopardize the Company’s legal position.
• To provide legal opinions, expert advice and solution orientations for the Company to resolve legal difficulties encountered in implementing business transactions.
• To alert the Company of potential issues likely to arise in the establishment of a project and provide insights on possible litigious issues for the Company to be prepared and able to assess its liabilities.
• To close-monitor the development of all litigation cases so defense strategies can formulated for case advancement including settlement proposals.
• To advocate cases brought against the Company in the Consumer tribunal to defend passenger claims and ensure that the Company’s liability is limited as per applicable law.
• To ensure internal documentation procedures are complied with.
• To assist Finance Division to ensure that legal documents contain sufficient provisions on payment terms.

Requirements

1. Degree in law/Professional qualifications or its equivalent from recognized higher institutions with minimum of 5 years working experience in legal field
2. Good administrative and management skills:
3. Highly conversant in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
4. Strong technical proficiency in litigation, contract law and conveyancing
5. Knowledge and technical skills in industrial relations, banking and finance, corporate and cyber law are an advantage.
