Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Darwin Operations Centre Lead Mechanical Engineer, the mechanical engineer is accountable for providing DOC operating assets with specialized mechanical engineering support.
- This position is a fixed term contractor role for 2 years, employed through a recruitment agency.
- Responsible for providing mechanical engineering support at our offshore facility, onshore LNG facility, FSO and pipeline.
- Provide technical oversight for piping, pressure vessel and static equipment facility design modifications and upgrades.
- Provide specialized knowledge of structure stress analysis, piping supports and in-service welding.
- Provide mechanical engineering support to operations.
- Assist asset integrity team in carrying out fitness for service assessment for pressure containment equipment and piping.
- Determine appropriate repair techniques and developing designs, including mechanical sleeves, mechanical clamps, composite wraps etc.
- Direct the activities of EPC contractors and mentor junior engineers.
- Conduct management of change reviews related to mechanical discipline.
- Bachelor of Mechanical engineering degree
- 10 years post graduation experience in mechanical engineering
