Position Summary

•  The Business Analyst will lead in the development and support of reporting solutions within the Global Repair Services (GRS) Business Unit primarily using the SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW) application. The analyst will liaise with senior management as well as various internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement a management information infrastructure to support strategic as well as tactical decision making and control.
• The Business Analyst will primarily facilitate detailed report requirements gathering, data architecture modeling, creation and implementation. The Business Analyst is expected to provide reporting solutions to complex problems in order to support Sponsors and other Senior Managers as required. This role will also include subcontract management, design reviews, acceptance testing and commissioning proposed solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work from functional/business requirements to design and develop data sources (install standard data sources, enhance existing data sources and create custom data sources)
• Work from functional/business requirements to design and develop objects
• Document test plans and complete Unit Testing of developed objects and reports
• Work with Quality Assurance business resources to complete System and Integration Testing
• Analyze and communicate report development issues, including problems with data integrity, data design, and functional and technical software issues
• Prepare project related documentation (object designs, business rules, technical information etc) during the different stages of the project
• Provide support and maintenance of the BW environments and possibly other reporting environments including Cognos and Oracle (development, quality assurance and production)
• Work with key stakeholders and/or project managers to gather and analyze the requirements for reporting projects and project opportunities Capture and translate all requirements into coherent detailed specifications which will allow successful designs to be created
• Analyze and categorize requirements into project needs; and work with internal teams to assist in the creation of deliverables throughout the project lifecycle such as the initial proposal, business case, detailed design and test plans
• Develop strong external relationships with vendors and internal relationships with business stakeholders
• Collect and analyze data to identify project opportunity and to help define project scope
• Participate in vendor selection for projects
• Review detailed design proposals against specified project requirements
• Develop user acceptance criteria
• Coordinate and execute system acceptance testing
• Develop and implement system roll out plans

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a reporting analyst role
• Solid understanding of databases
• Proven experience working with SAP BW reporting
• Ability to write SQL preferred
• Ability to analyze data
• Strong Mathematics/Statistics skills
• Experience working in a global business
• Proven ability to design, document and implement data architecture and design
• Ability to produce business/functional requirements documents
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Flexibility to work in an fast-paced environment and manage multiple concurrent tasks/projects
• Experience in manufacturing and or reverse logistics environment is an advantage
