Bank BTN Persero is a state owned enterprise in finance and banking sectore. The BTN embryo begins with the establishment of Postspaarbank in Batavia in 1897. In 1942, during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia, the bank is frozen and replaced with Tyokin Kyoku. After the proclamation of the independence of Indonesia bank was taken over by the government of Indonesia and converted to Postal Savings Office. Name and the company subsequently changed shape several times until finally in 1998 changed to the name and official form of current.
Currently Bank BTN is becoming the foremost bank in financing of housing industry in Indonesia and become a leader bank in that sectors.
