Process Engineer
Responsibilities
- Designs and modifies moderate to complex equipment and facilities such as: compressor facilities, oil and gas dehydration facilities, instrumentation and control equipment, pipelines, water disposal facilities, small and medium sized facilities, and water treatment systems.
- Works independently on medium to high complexity facilities projects.
- Develops and/or reviews design for proper layout, safety, and human engineering issues. Participates and/or lead in HAZOP, i-HAZID, any Hazards or Risks identification sessions, Safety Objectives Analysis (SOA). Develops practical solutions with good engineering to address recommendation from Riskman process. Reviews/improves designs for operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance. Participates in 3D CAD reviews, etc.
- Works with outside design or engineering resources (contractors, flow assurance specialists, etc.) May serve as a process design representative on projects.
- Reviews and provides input to technical specifications and evaluations for equipment procurement. Evaluates and makes technical recommendations for process and equipment selection.
- Develops computer simulations of processing facilities and field development tools. Develops process design for moderate sized facilities. Participates in process commissioning and start-up teams and troubleshoots as required.
- Provides direct support to Operations in process monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, potentially shutdown planning, process start-up procedures, operating instructions and operator training guides for new facilities as required.
- Serves as a lead process engineer on projects with more than one engineer assigned and / or as a Company design representative in a design contractor's office. Approves PFD, HMB, PID, and process datasheets and other process documentation.
- Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or Higher
- Minimum 7 years Oil and Gas or Petrochemical experiences with emphasis in operations and process design. Offshore related experiences are preferred.
- Experienced in Process Modelling Programs (i.e., Hysis, PipeSim, Phasephase, HTRI, FlareNet, etc.)
- Experienced in Process Operating and Maintenance (i.e. troubleshooting, monitoring, providing O&M procedures)
- Familiar with international & industrial engineering standards especially in safety and process design.
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Good coordinating and coaching skills.
