Role synopsis
The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) team role is to support the roll-out and implementation of the Group’s Ethics & Compliance strategy in Asia and ensure its alignment with the continued “silent” running of operations and longer term business growth objectives, including alignment with potential new joint ventures in the region. The Ethics & Compliance Specialist will track delivery of control processes and is responsible for escalating issues directly to the Ethics & Compliance Leader (ECL) as they arise. To be part of the team is an excellent opportunity for a national employee to obtain broad business awareness and context and to expand networking with other key contacts within Indonesia and the broader Asia Pacific Region.

The Ethics & Compliance Specialist coordinates and interfaces with other key Business Units contacts throughout Aspac Region. With the ongoing drive for further alignment with Group standards, the role will also liaise with Group Compliance & Ethics in the UK. He/she reports to the Ethics & Compliance Leader (ECL) who provides support directly to the Regional Leadership Team (RLT) including the CFO and Regional President.

Key accountabilities
Subject to the annual Ethics & Compliance work program, the position is assigned to coordinate Ethics & Compliance initiatives and to support the Ethics & Compliance Leader (ECL) by performing such tasks as:
  • Coordinate campaigns and special projects initiated by the Ethics & Compliance Lead
  • Deliver training and socialization related to E&C agenda and ensure that it is properly recorded
  • Provide control and oversight on internal E&C processes and documentation
  • Review and socialize all applicable and relevant BPMIGAS and government of Indonesia regulation in relation to the Ethics & Compliance activities and to make sure its alignment with BP Group Policy
  • Review Government hosting activity on an ongoing basis to ensure its compliance
  • Monitor and review a range of Ethics & Compliance activities on a quarterly basis to ensure its compliance
  • Coordinate Asia Pacific Anti-Money Laundering exercise
Essential Education
At minimum Bachelor Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance

Essential experience and job requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in compliance or finance/accounting.
  • Strong computer and internet skills.
  • Honest, ethical and perform with a superior level of integrity.
  • Excellent communicator (written or verbal).
  • Excellent presentation skill.
  • Ability to brief management and to provide concise and professional advice.
  • Flexible schedule and available to travel. Willing to work for 2 weeks in Papua every month.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written).

  1. A solid team player and strong networking and communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  2. Demonstrate a "can do" attitude and ability to take on challenging assignments and complete them on-time and with high quality result.
  3. Able to grasp complex commercial & business process issues and multiple data feeds.
  4. Able to prioritize/deliver within a role that involves conflicting priorities and on occasion, tight deadlines.
