Philips Canada Technical Sales RepresentativePosition is located in Philips Canlyte Toronto Sales Office. This office is responsible for sales of Professional Luminaires through distribution channels to our specification, electrical contracting and end user customers. The office is located in Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto.

This position is located at the Mississauga, Ontario Sales Office, servicing the Greater Toronto Area region with sales and sales support.

Principal responsibilities:
To create a demand for the Lightolier, CFI and Keene products and to bring in maximum sales results from all specifiers and customers assigned in a given territory.

Principal tasks:
  • Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with specifiers such as Engineers, Architects, Designers, and owners to ensure that our products are specified on all projects
  • Pay regular visits to designated specifiers
  • Identifies and contacts new specifiers in order to establish a business relationship.
  • Introduce new products using samples and demonstrates installation techniques
  • Assist in lighting design and seeks opportunities to specify Canlyte products
  • Learn and make effective use of the Genesys program
  • Report to the Sales, Marketing and Engineering management on market trends, new competitive products and any issue of significance
  • Assist the OTC representatives with pre and post tender information
  • Follows up with the specifiers on specification strength. Weakness. Reports to colleaques accordingly.
  • Solicit specifier assistance/ cooperation in expediting shop drawings approval when necessary
  • Complete Spec registrations and shares information with colleagues and /or agents in and out of the region, as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of products and technologies through in house training outside courses, trade publications, etc.
  • Participate in trade shows and assists colleagues with presentations.
  • Promote a positive attitude towards the Company and promotes goodwill.
Candidate Profile:
  • University or College graduate Business program
  • 3-5 years sales experience preferably in the lighting industry
  • Lighting Knowledge – IES / LC Certification an Asset
  • Training on product, basic intermediate and advanced both in physical and application
  • Proficency with Microsoft Office
  • Customer focusseKnowledge of distribution channels
  • Knowledge of project closing process a definite asset
  • Excellent iInterpersonal skills, team player
  • Exellent communicaton and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work unsupervised
