Logistics Analyst (2 openings)

Objectives of the Position:

• To establish processes to support the Houston logistics requirements – both import and export.
• To ensure all compliance requirements are met and documented.
• To coordinate export and import shipments to/from the United States.

Relationships:

Responsible to:
Director of Global Logistics - Houston

Internal Relationships:
Purchasing, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Order Management, Project Management, Trade Compliance Manager.

External Relationships:
Tesco Business Units, Freight Forwarding providers, Government Traffic/Export/Import regulatory bodies

Educational Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transportation (air & ocean)
• College Degree Preferred

Principal Tasks:

• To coordinate import/export shipments to/from the U.S.
• To ensure documents are compliant with U.S. Customs/BIS (Bureau of Industry & Security) standards.
• Coordinate the booking of the cargo.
• Track and trace cargo and advise stake holders of any discrepancies/delays
• Insure that the contracted rates are used and applied properly to shipment.
• To ensure documentation is timely and accurate.
• To coordinate delivery of documents to destination.
• To offer “best in class” customer service to both internal and external customers

Competencies Required For Effective Performance:

• High level of oral and written communications skills
• Above average computer and organizational skills, ERP Experience ( SAP, Oracle, Great Plains)
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Able to work flexible hours when required (including holidays and weekends)
• Bi-lingual would be a plus
• College degree in Logistics or Supply Chain would be a plus
• Freight Forwarding background is a plus
• Working knowledge of trade compliance processes as must.
