We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Energy & Utilities team in the Madison office. Our specialized professionals help identify profitable renewable energy initiatives and strategies for start-up firms to multi-billion dollar organizations.
As a Financial Analyst, you will work with a select group of professionals aligned in an entrepreneurial environment, providing services to clients in areas such as pro forma financial modeling, business valuation, and business consulting. These services require the detailed review and analysis of economic information, industry trends, financial statements, merger and acquisition transactions, specifically related to the energy sector, with a focus on renewables (wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, etc.).

Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, assist and complete engagements which may include pro forma financial modeling of renewable energy projects, business valuations, equity security valuations, option valuation, intangible asset appraisals, lost profits/economic damage analysis, purchase price allocation, and goodwill impairment analysis.
- Summarize financial data in complex spreadsheets and analyze the underlying data.
- Summarize analysis performed in written form to be shared with the client as a deliverable.
- Apply business valuation approaches and methods to a variety of assets.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
- Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
- Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise, comply with continuing education requirements; participate in professional organizations, independent study, etc.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- One to three (1-3) years financial modeling experience, with emphasis on energy asset modeling and analysis preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills required.
- Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong writing skills preferred.
