We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in aviation safety management, to join Mandala Airlines Safety, Quality and Security team as the Safety Manager.

This senior position provides the opportunity for you to support the airlines strong focus on safety, quality, process improvement and operational excellence.

It is a 'hands on' role working with interaction with both internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Head of Safety, Quality Assurance & Security.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the Investigation Board
• Flight data monitoring, safety/hazard reporting and risk/incident analysis
• Ongoing review of the safety management system, evaluating its effectiveness and ensuring that improvements are made as required
• Provide timely advice and assistance on aviation safety matters to management and staff
• Develop and conduct safety seminars
• Aviation safety training
• Corporate safety training
• ERP training and involvement
• Prevention Analysis Board
• Aviation safety awards program
• Distribution of aviation safety information including a monthly aviation safety bulletin

Applicants should fulfill the following requirements:

• Extensive experience in modern Safety Management Systems (SMS)
• Sound knowledge of airline operations, including flight operations procedures
• Ability to present to large groups
• Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work alone (at times under pressure), as well as part of a team.
• Be worthy of commanding respect among peers and management officials.
• Strong communication skills, with a high level of English proficiency, both written and spoken
• CASO certified
• Tertiary qualification in an aviation discipline
• Operational experience in flight operations or other relevant areas
• Familiarity with modern safety database systems
• Engineering or Flight Crew license
